After exploding onto the SlamBall scene as soon as competition started, Christian Gray’s play demanded attention from everybody on the floor. While other players entered with a sense of nervousness, Gray felt confident that his basketball and athletic skill set would transfer seamlessly onto the SlamBall court. While Gray’s talent was evident to all, the coaching tandem of Head Coach James Willis and Assistant Coach James Lee were no exception as they eventually selected him with the fifth overall pick.
With a combination of size and athleticism, Coach Lee believes Wrath fans are getting a rare opportunity to watch a special athlete.
“They’re getting a one-of-a-kind player because he’s an all around player,” stated Coach Lee. “Even If we want to play him at handler, he can play handler. So they’re gonna get a one-of-a-kind player that you don’t get to see often and the sky’s the limit for him.”
While Gray is simply grateful for being selected, the opportunity to play for one of SlamBall’s most successful players in Coach Willis is something that he does not take lightly
“It’s really everything,” said Gray. “I want to learn from the best, so why not learn from the one with the most championships. The most winningest player. Played the game at a high level, was very elite when he played and is the same way when he coaches.”
The Wrath look to add to Coach Willis’ successful legacy as the season is set to begin on July 21, live on ESPN.
