Cobb County will soon have the opportunity to see “Nick the Quick” help bring back the sport of SlamBall. The sport was originally launched in 1999 and is a form of basketball played on trampolines in front of each net and boards around the court edge. It is also a contact sport, with blocks, collisions and rough physical play as part of the game, similar to football and ice hockey. The sport has had many reincarnations over the years, and in the 2023 version, 2011 Hillgrove High School alum Nick Parks said it seemed like the perfect scenario for him to get back into team sports.
