Professional Career
Growing up outside Atlanta, Nick Parks’s grandmother “Granny Wanny” first dubbed the youngster “Nick the Quick.” Everything the Purdue track and field champion has done since then has proven Granny right, and not just limited to the sprinting blocks. Parks was a two-time All-American at Purdue, shattering the venerable Big 10 institution’s more than half-century-old record in the 400 meters (45.71 seconds), while being named the Boilermakers’ Male Track MVP. He also serves as a mentor for high school and collegiate athletes.
