Dionte Byrd

Professional Career

Dionte Byrd, 28, was born and bred with SlamBall running through his veins. Growing up, Dionte was a standout athlete at Eastside High where he earned first team all-area honors in basketball. Throughout his life, Byrd always looked up to his father, SlamBall superstar, George Byrd. George, a former college basketball player at Virginia Commonwealth who went on to pro basketball stints overseas in Belgium and Brazil, was a mentor to Dionte who hopes to take his knowledge and expertise to the next level. Despite being a seventh-round pick, Dionte Byrd was named co-captain of the Mob. His brother, Donavin, is a gunner for the Ozone this season.
