Justin Holmes had an accomplished football career before becoming a first-round pick and team captain for the Gryphons. He hauled in 120 passes for 1,891 yards and 25 touchdowns during his prep career at Oakmont High School in Roseville, Calif. He also lettered in basketball and was a hurdler and jumper on the track and field team. Over Holmes’ four-year tenure (2016-19) at San Jose State, the wide receiver tallied 99 catches for 1,192 yards and five TDs. In addition, Justin Holmes had a catch in 20 consecutive games from the end of 2015 through the third game in 2017, making it one of the longest streaks in the country at the time. After his college playing days, Holmes transitioned to the Iowa Barnstormers of the IFL and now works as a healthcare recruiter in Sacramento, where he started his own sportswear brand (Game Changer Gear) as a side-hobby. His cousin is former Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Lloyd.
