Professional Career
Jelani Janisse, a trailblazing figure in SlamBall, emerged as one of the league’s earliest stars. He led the Rumble to a championship in SlamBall’s inaugural 2002 season and solidified his status as a top player by earning league MVP honors the following year. He also starred for the Rumble in 2007 and 2008. Known as “The Sheriff,” Janisse earned this moniker for his commanding presence and enforcer role on the SlamBall court. He played guard for two seasons (1997-99) at the University of Kansas under Hall of Fame coach Roy Williams after a standout stint at Los Angeles City College.
