Professional Career

Jamaal Barnes Jr. prepped at Bonita High School in La Verne, Calif., where he helped lead the Bearcats to a 2018 Palomares League championship during his senior season. He was also a 2018 San Gabriel Valley Tribune first team all-Area selection and collected Division 2 second team all-state honors. He then led the Inland Empire Athletic Conference in scoring at 18.8 PPG at Mt. St. Jacinto College in 2019-20 before transferring to Division I Utah Tech, where he found his way into 10 games. His explosive style and range made him the third-round pick of the Buzzsaw. The son of former SlamBall gunner Jamaal Barnes Sr., he is one of four current players whose father previously played the sport.
